I like to keep a thermometer in the greenhouse and keep a temperature log. It serves two purposes - one it helps to focus on the rising and falling temps as the days get hotter but the nights are still very cold.

And, if you should have failures of plants in the greenhouse, you may be able to track back to temps being too high or too low at some stage in their development.

Excellent tips...And I am pleased to say that I have already followed most of them. I do have a problem with the crop rotation thing though as I don;t have that much space but I combat this by manuring well and feeding...maybe one year I will have to not grow and leave it fallow but I hope not!!

Hi Chef_UK - If you are spraying then you will need to use a systemic weedkiller such as glyphosate. If you are not keen to use a spray in an enclosed area then you might want to try the type you paint onto the leaves.

Great top ten :) Regarding the weeds, I now have some nettles and dock coming through the sides. The floor is covered in weed suppressant membrane but it wasn't a continuous placement so the gaps inside the greenhouse is where they are coming from. Can I use a spray to kill them as digging them out isn't an option now. nothing will be grown directly in the ground in there so can't see a weed spray doing any harm. Unless you think otherwise?
