I may be wrong but i think rose hip tea is just a "grown up" equivalent of rose hip syrup - the main benefit being vit C?

They had to go through quite a lengthy procedure to make the hps into syrup - it was quite important to make sure that all the hairy seeds were removed as they are an irritant.

Rose hip syrup is an excellent source of Vitamin C and so during the war when citrus fruits were in short supply country schoolchildren used to be paid so much a bucketful for picking wild rosehips.
If you pick a ripe hip and break it open and remove the hairy seeds you will find that it's sweet and fruity.
