In a town that I thought of as major supporters of wind energy and other renewable sources, I was surprised to find how many were opposed to the proposal. At first I thought it was just a matter of Not in my backyard syndrome, but after I really read the proposal I realised it was more about the size than the actual concept. In fact, the town tried to negotiate for smaller turbines, but because we had no zoning laws, the town was basically powerless. It&amp;#39;s hard to be caught between an idea that you support and the actualization of it if it does more harm than good. I hope your town gets a better result than ours did.</content><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/7491427940485805820/4042698952466214226/comments/default/1856758452943945482'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/7491427940485805820/4042698952466214226/comments/default/1856758452943945482'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://www.smallholdersdiary.com/2009/12/wind-farms-saviour-of-environment-or.html?showComment=1260039791740#c1856758452943945482' title=''/><author><name>GardenGabber</name><uri>http://theshopperslink.com/garden-gab/</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image xmlns:gd='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005' rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='16' height='16' src='http://img1.blogblog.com/img/blank.gif'/></author><thr:in-reply-to xmlns:thr='http://purl.org/syndication/thread/1.0' href='http://www.smallholdersdiary.com/2009/12/wind-farms-saviour-of-environment-or.html' ref='tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7491427940485805820.post-4042698952466214226' source='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/7491427940485805820/posts/default/4042698952466214226' type='text/html'/><gd:extendedProperty xmlns:gd='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005' name='blogger.itemClass' value='pid-1586647971'/></entry></feed>
