Good luck with this method, I didn't have much luck with it and now plant out directly into the soil. (takes forever for germination) I've a new tip to try for next year of pre chitting them in a damp box in the airing cupboard for a couple of weeks first. Make sure the toilet rolls don't dry out, as the contents could too. Not much hope of that at the moment ... lol

How long do rolls like this take to decopose and allow the parsnips to grow outwards?

I remember the first year I had my allotment I had a problem with rabbits eating my peas and had no netting or anything......I than used cut up bamboo canes and a very intricate garden string pattern to keep them at bay. It worked a treat however every time i was going to the allotment I was worried that I might fond a rabbit tangled and injured....that never happened though so I guess they were smart enough to get the message!!
